The Audi A4 introduced in 1994 is a compact executive car replacing the Audi 80. Built on the Volkswagen Group B platform it competes with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes Benz C Class. Initially a sedan and wagon Avant it later included convertibles. Known for refined design performance and tech like quattro all wheel drive it has five generations with the latest 2015 updated 2019 featuring mild hybrid systems and digital cockpits. In South Africa the A4 including S4 and RS4 models is popular for luxury and versatility with strong resale value on AutoTrader. Motorsport history includes success in the South African Touring Car Championship 1990s.
